Editing 6 - Fixing Spot, Blemishes, Red Eye, Backgrounds, etc
If you are a digital camera user, you probably keep your lens covered when you are not using it,
but smartphone and tablet camera lenses tend to be exposed to the elements most of the time,
so it is not uncommon for them to gather specs of dirt or finger smears that can ruin your photos.
These blemishes are often not noticed until you enlarge the photo.
There are also times when your subject is spoiled by a mark or blemish that impacts the quality of a photo, and removing it would improve the photo.
You can digitally remove these blemishes, dust specks, and other small marks from a photo if you have the right tools.
While spot fix is a fairly obvious description, some editing tools refer to it as “Blemish Removal”, “Healing”, “Advanced Healing”, “Retouching”, etc.
Some editing tools also have a function to remove Red Eye from a portrait that has been caused by camera flash,
but it is usually fairly basic and not as comprehensive as provided with downloadable 3rd party editing tools.
Removing an object from a photo or removing the background from a photo is normally left to the downloadable 3rd party editing tools,
but some of the latest built-in tools are beginning to include these options using very clever AI logic.
