Composition 8 - Simplification

It doesn't matter what sort of camera you use, but following a few simple guidelines can generally improve your photos. In this tip we will talk about "Simplification".

Sometimes, less can be more, and that is the object of simplification - only your subject.

This technique of composition attempts to have a simple subject that is clearly and strongly presented, with no distractions.

It is often achieved by having the background out of focus by using a narrow depth of field or by eliminating distracting elements, such that the primary focus is your subject.

Simplification
While it is frequently used for static objects, the technique can be very effective for character faces.

If you would like to see some examples, type "simplification photography" into Google Search and click on Images or simply click here. This provides a much wider range of images than we could show here.
